Valerie E. Bressner (Plante), 77, of Glendale, RI passed away peacefully at the Hope Health Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Providence with family by her side. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Virginia (Wood) Plante.
Valerie attended Barrington High School and lived in Barrington for 53 years while raising her daughter Joann. She lived in Florida for 17 years prior to moving back to Rhode Island to reside with her daughter in the Glendale section of Burrillville.
Prior to retiring, she worked for the Trafari’s Company in Providence in production control. She was a member and secretary of the Rhode Island Club in Florida and went to the Glocester Senior Center.
She is survived by her daughter, Joann Alger and husband Michael and her two grandchildren, Julia and Makayla Alger.
She also leaves behind her brother-in-law, Arnold “Butch” Bates and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Sandra Walton and her husband Howard and Harriet Bates.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Rd., North Smithfield.
Calling hours will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Burial will respectfully be private.
