Virgina "Ginger" E. (Janton) Pierce

Virginia “Ginger” E. Pierce (Janton), 87, of Johnston, RI passed away peacefully at the Overlook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Pascoag with family by her side. Born in Warwick, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Doris (Lovely) Janton. She was the loving wife of 55 years of the late Terry D. Pierce.

She worked for her brother as an office manager at Janton Electric in West Warwick, RI.

She is survived by her children, Karen Trinque and her husband William of Burrillville, RI and Gregory Pierce and his wife Elia of Ashby, MA, also her grandchildren, Nathan, Nicole, Matthew, Sarah, and Megan and great-grandchildren, Ava, William, Kylie and Aubrey.

She also leaves behind her brother, Joseph Henry Janton and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Pierce and her sister, Linda Ahern.

She leaves behind her close friend of many years, Nancy O’Brien of Johnston.

Virginia was loved by her many friends at Anchor Bay of Pocasset in Johnston, RI where she lived.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Rd., North Smithfield.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Pascoag Main St.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Ginger to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
