On the Feast of the Immaculate Conception (December 8th), Virginia Langelier gracefully passed into the presence of her beloved Lord and Savior. She was 88 years old. Virginia was born on May 24, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Catherine Coleman. She was the wife of Roger Langelier for 62 years.
The couple have 4 children: Christine, Mark, Michael, and Gregory. They have 7 grandchildren: Erin, Kerri, Kara, Natasha, Avary, Nicholas, and Theresa. They have 2 great grandchildren: Natalie and Dylan.
Virginia has 2 sisters who are deceased: Kathleen and Maureen. She is the mother-in-law of Michael, Julie and Beverly.
Virginia was a graduate of Catherine Laboure' School of Nursing. The school's motto was " In Thy Sight We Serve." Virginia truly became a servant of Christ in all aspects of her life. Virginia worked as an Obstetrician's nurse for over 40 years. Thousands of children were born under the care of Virginia's loving touch. Throughout her lifetime grateful mothers would reach out to thank her for the affection and kindness she displayed during the months leading up to their child's birth. Virginia, even in her retirement, remembered all of these women and the children they bore.
Virginia married her soul mate Roger Langelier on October 15th, 1960. Over the years they raised 4 children. Virginia juggled marriage, parenting and nursing using her old school motto: In Thy Sight We Serve." She always placed her needs behind the needs of others. In all these aspects of her life, her love never wavered.
In her later years, she had the joy of being a grandparent. The cycle of serving others continued with the grandchildren. The most important gifts she gave them were her deep love for Christ and the realization of the importance of Family in our present times.
In her final years, Virginia lost her soul mate Roger and was physically compromised. Yet her life still instilled " In Thy Sight We Serve." She was a beacon of Hope and Love for all who entered into her presence.
