Walter "Cookie" E. Daniels

Walter E Daniels, (Cookie), 80,passed away on March 1, 2024 at Crystal Lake Rehabilitation and Care Center in Harrisville, RI where he has resided for 10 years. Born in Woonsocket, he was a lifelong Glendale resident. He was the son of the late Walter and Mary (Zanetti) Daniels. He was predeceased by his sister, Walda Brady who passed in June of 2023. Walter was a Marine combat veteran serving his country in Vietnam until being severely wounded by enemy fire in 1968. He was honorably discharged as a Lance Corporal and awarded a purple heart.   

He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was a talented car and motorcycle mechanic. Walter was also an amazingly talented artist creating countless drawings of caricatures.

Walter is survived by his niece, Patricia Salone and her husband Denis Marchand and his nephew, Scott Brady. He is also survived by 2 great nieces, Mary Schmidt and Ellen Salone and 2 great-great nieces, Esther and Norah Schmidt.

The family of Walter would like to thank the staff of Crystal Lake for their compassionate care for the past 10 years.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Brown Funeral Home, 1496 Victory Hwy., Oakland.

Burial in Union Cemetery, North Smithfield will be private.
